Here is the Doolin Guitar made by Mike Doolin:

I have recently taken a visit to Buffalo Brother's Guitars in Carlsbad this weekend along with my baby and compared it side by with a few of the other top of the line guitars there are today. Though you may think this is biased, I brought along 3 other guitar playing friends that also listened and played for themselves.

When I say that a guitar sounds like this brand and this brand put together, it's not exactly accurate per se, but they are similar in a way.

Here are my conclusions:

Doolin Guitars: Albeit a small guitar luthier making excellent non-traditional style guitars. I have to say that these guitar outclass and outsound everything that I've played as of today. I played goodalls, martins, taylors, r.taylors, ehlers, froggy's, you name them, I've played em (in the more popular brands that is). I would have to say the Doolin has a unique sound likened to a Goodall, Froggy, and R. Taylor Combined. Take all those guitars' sound and smash them together and you have a Doolin. The 3 Dimensional sound of a Goodall, The Crisp sound of the R. Taylor, and the more natural fuller louder sound of a Froggy. Albeit a VERY VERY unique and harmoniously complex guitar. The playability is like nothing else i've played. The action is better described as a Taylor/Goodall action with playability very much like a meld between those two as well. I was told by the person who sold the guitar to me, who has Olsons, Wengers, Taylors, everything quite literally and said that the Doolin was the best guitar he's had. He said he sold it because he felt that he just had way too many guitars and that whichever guitars sold first, he would just end up selling it even if it was the best. Quite honestly, this is the best guitar i've ever played.

I hope you like my review, it's pretty basic, but I really recommend everyone to check out Doolin's, get past the double cutaway and think of it as an advantage, and try to get one before they turn into the price of an Olson. Compared to all of the guitar we played and Buffalo, my friends and I have concluded that the Doolin REIGNED SUPREME in Guitar Stadium. Also, The guitar is a very good strummer, take medium/heavy strumming and also a phenomenal fingerpicker... It's definitely worth the money. I enjoyed taking the time to compare. I definitely recommend you buy one. Best build, best quality hands down.
